Dogpatch, San Francisco

These are some pics from a couple different shoots taken over the summer of 2007. I never quite got around to uploading these (though I believe the fog shots may be on Flickr) so now I'm going through to backlog to find things to post.

It starts with some shots from the East shore, the night was crystal clear and the light hitting the water gave everything a sort of plasticy, unnatural look.

The fog shots were taken on an unusually foggy day on San Francisco's east shore. For those outside of SF you might think it strange that I say fog is unusual - well, it is in this part of town. The fog usually hits the north side near the Golden Gate Bridge, but on the east shore it's at best lightly foggy, and that's usually at night. To have such dense fog well after sunrise created some really unusual light, and the disused Dogpatch-area docks just looked great in it.

The non-fog shots were taken along the east shore as well, near the SF power plant and down in Bayshore / Hunters Point. This whole area is a giant graffiti / wildpost playground, and I aimed to capture some of that, as well as some imposing industrialism as well. If it weren't for the camps of Mad Max style transients I'd take flicks here more often.
