Monopoly Noir

Posted on 01/07/08

A 40's era period piece about a man approached by a seductive lady regarding his Monopoly set.

Production Notes

As an experiment in film school, I was to edit another person's footage with absolutely no background whatsoever as to what she had originally intended with the piece. The idea was to test 1) the Director's ability to create a clear story, and 2) the video editor's ability to create a story from scratch. I volunteered to take what was claimed to be, "The worst footage in the group."

I exploited the bad takes and awkward pauses to create what I saw as an oddball comedy. What I came up with was proclaimed by the director as far better than the original piece.
