Production Notes
This was my first 'real' movie (well, technically second if you count my 7th Grade Science Project). This was my first project as a freshmen in college back in Chicago, and while not a stunning cinematic achievement, I'm partial to it as it was the hook that led ultimately led me to San Francisco and the road I walk today.
In any case, it was my first narrative piece. Written by and starring Jason Tobias, the story is about a graffiti writer who gets into an argument at a party and storms out angry. Later, he regrets his decision. Shot entirely on Digital8 and edited on Adobe Premier.
The original idea was that the two men in conflict were lovers, which is a huge taboo in hip-hop culture, but that didn't really come through in the piece. In any case, the general sense of conflict still comes through (albeit in a somewhat student-ish way).
